あかいやねの ちいさないえに、三びきのねずみが すんでいました。
はるです。 きょうははるのおおそうじ。
三びきのねずみは、いえのなかのものを せっせと にわへ はこびだしていました。
そこへ、りすのおやこが とおりかかりました。
「はるですね。ぽかぽかして とってもいいきもち。おや、はるのおおそうじですか」
りすのおかあさんは、あれこれ みまわしてから いいました。
「まあ、きれいなカーテン！わたし、こどもべやに そんなカーテンを かけたいと おもっていましたの」
「よかったら どうぞ！ うちには ほかにも、カーテンが ありますから」
りすのおやこは にこにこしながら、カーテンを かかえて、いってしまいました。
こうして、カーテンが なくなりました。
三びきのねずみが へやのそうじを していると、二ひきのうさぎが やってきました。
「はるですね。ぽかぽかして とってもいいきもち。まあ、ごせいが でますこと」
うさぎたちは、はとどけいを じっと みつめました。
「なんてすてきな はとどけい！ こんなとけいが うちにも あったら、あたしたち あさおきるのが たのしみですわ」
「よかったら どうぞ!! うちには おきどけいも ありますから」
二ひきのうさぎは おおよろこび、はとどけいを だいじそうに かかえて、いってしまいました。
はとどけいも なくなりました。
こんどは、きつねのおばあさんが とおりかかりました。
「はるですね。ぽかぽかして とってもいいきもち。まあまあ、はりきっていること」
おばあさんは そういうと、じろじろ ゆりいすを みやりました。
「なんとまあ、しゃれた ゆりいすだこと！ こんないすで ゆらりゆらり ひるねが できたら ごくらくですよ」
「よかったら どうぞ!!!! うちには あと ふたつも ありますから」
きつねのおばあさんは、ほくほくしながら ゆりいすを かついで、いってしまいました。
ゆりいすも ひとなくなりました。
「はるですね。ぽかぽかして とってもいいきもち。」
たぬきのいっかが どやどやと やってきました。
そして、テーブルを なでたり、いすに すわってみたり、しはじめました。
「じつに りっぱなものですね。こんなテーブルと いすが あったら 三どのごはんが どんなに おいしく たべられるでしょう」
「よかったら どうぞ.....。テーブルと いすくらい また つくれば いいんですから」
たぬきたちは、リアカーに いそいで テーブルと いすを のせると、くちぶえを ふきふき いってしまいました。
とうとう、テーブルといすも、なくなってしまいました。
はるのおおそうじは おわりました。
三びきのねずみは にわに だしたものを、いえのなかへ もどしました。
そして、ベランダで おちゃをのんでいると、
「はるですね。ぽかぽかして とってもいいきもち」
といいながら、あなぐまが やってきました。
あなぐまは、3びきのいえを ぐるりと ながめまわしました。
「あかいやねの すてきないえだ。こんないえで、ばらのはなに かこまれて くらせたら、どんなに しあわせだろう」
でも、このいえを あげてしまったら、三びきのねずみには すむところが なくなります。
すると、あなぐまは、「うちのにわに うえるつもりだったが、このばらのなえぎ、ここに うえても いいかね？ はなが さいたら おちゃを ごちそうに なりにくるよ」といいと、もってきた なえぎを さっさと にわに うえてしまいました。
バラのなえぎは ぐんぐん のびました。
やがて あかいやねの ちいさないえは ばらのはなに とりかこまれました。
いつも きんじょの ひとが たずねてきました。
あなぐまも ときどき やってきて、おちゃを ごちそうに なりながら、うっとりと ばらのはなを ながめました。
はるの おおそうじの おはなしは これで おしまい。チュウ。
**Spring Cleaning**
In a small house with a red roof, three mice were living.
It was spring. Today was the day for spring cleaning.
The three mice were diligently carrying things from inside the house out into the yard.
Just then, a family of squirrels passed by.
"It's spring. It feels so warm and pleasant. Oh, are you doing spring cleaning?" the mother squirrel asked after looking around.
"My, what lovely curtains! I've always wanted such curtains for my children's room."
"If you'd like, please take them! We have other curtains," the mice replied.
Smiling, the squirrel family took the curtains and left.
And so, the curtains were gone.
While the three mice were cleaning the room, two rabbits came by.
"It's spring. It feels so warm and pleasant. My, you're working hard," said the rabbits as they gazed at the cuckoo clock.
"What a wonderful cuckoo clock! If we had such a clock, waking up in the morning would be a joy."
"If you'd like, please take it! We have a mantel clock as well," said the mice.
The two rabbits, overjoyed, carefully took the cuckoo clock and left.
And so, the cuckoo clock was gone.
Next, an old fox lady passed by.
"It's spring. It feels so warm and pleasant. My, you're really putting your heart into it," she said, eyeing the rocking chair.
"What a fancy rocking chair! If I could take a nap in such a chair, it would be heavenly."
"If you'd like, please take it! We have two more," said the mice.
The old fox lady, delighted, took the rocking chair and left.
And so, one of the rocking chairs was gone.
"It's spring. It feels so warm and pleasant," said a family of raccoons as they arrived noisily.
They started to touch the table and sit on the chairs.
"What splendid items! With such a table and chairs, our three meals a day would be so delicious."
"If you'd like, please take them. We can always make more tables and chairs," said the mice.
The raccoons quickly loaded the table and chairs onto a handcart, whistling as they left.
And so, the table and chairs were gone.
The spring cleaning was over.
The three mice brought the things they had put out back into the house.
As they were drinking tea on the veranda, a badger arrived, saying, "It's spring. It feels so warm and pleasant."
The badger looked around the house of the three mice.
"What a wonderful house with a red roof. How happy one would be to live in such a house surrounded by roses."
But if they gave away the house, the three mice would have nowhere to live.
Then the badger said, "I was planning to plant this rose sapling in my garden, but may I plant it here? When it blooms, I'll come over for tea."
Saying this, he quickly planted the sapling in the yard.
The rose sapling grew rapidly.
Soon, the small house with the red roof was surrounded by roses.
Neighbors frequently visited.
The badger also visited from time to time, enjoying tea and gazing at the roses in admiration.
And that is the end of the spring cleaning story. Squeak.
