(Transforming Ghosts)
あるところに、こわ～い こわ～い どうくつが ありました。
Once upon a time, there was a super spooky cave.
そのなも オバケどうくつ。
Its name? The Ghost Cave.
この どうくつを くぐりぬけると、なぜか オバケに へんしんしちゃうんです。
When you pass through this cave… for some strange reason… you transform into a ghost!
あるとき、げんきいっぱいの たいほうが、「たいほう たいほう....」と さけびながら どうくつに はいると、
One day, a super energetic cannon shouted, “Cannon! Cannon!” as it entered the cave…
ほうたい ぐるぐるまきの ミイラに なって でてきちゃいました。
…and came out wrapped in bandages like a mummy!
ひゃ～、こわ～い！！
“Eeeek! So scary!!”
また あるとき、タケが「タケ タケ タケ...」と ふるえながら どうくつに はいると、
Another time, a bamboo stem trembled as it entered, saying, “Take… Take… Take…”
ケタケタ わらっている ガイコツおばけに なっちゃいました。
And it turned into a laughing skeleton ghost, going ke-ta ke-ta!
なんだか と～っても たのしそう。
He actually looked like he was having a great time.
つぎは、あやしい たけしじいさんが 「たけし～ たけし～」と いいながら はいります。
Next up, an odd old man named Takeshi entered, mumbling, “Takeshi… Takeshi…”
しいたけオバケに なっちゃいました。
He transformed into a Shiitake mushroom ghost!
「し～い～た～け～」
“Shiiiii-takeeee!”
こんどは おしゃれな ヤギさんが、うれしそうに どうくつに はいります。
Then came a stylish goat, skipping happily into the cave.
「うわ～！ なんだか たのしみ～」
“Wow! I’m excited!”
かがみに うつった じぶんの かおを みて、やぎさん、「ぎゃーっ！」と さけんじゃいました。
But when the goat saw its reflection in the mirror, it screamed, “Gyaaaaah!”
こんどは りんごが はいります。
Now it’s the apple’s turn.
りんごは うすの オバケに なっちゃって、「ゴリン ゴリン ゴリン！」と こなを ひきはじめました。
The apple turned into a mill ghost and started grinding flour, “Gorin! Gorin! Gorin!”
カップに はいった スープも、おならを いっぱい だす おしりオバケに なっちゃいました。
A cup of soup turned into a farty ghost butt that kept letting out gas.
「わーい！ おならが とまらなーい！」
“Yaaay! I can’t stop farting!”
かわいい かわいい くちさんも、ちくちく とげだらけの オバケに なっちゃいました。
Even the cute little mouth transformed… into a prickly, spiky ghost!
さわったら いたそう！
“Ouch! That would hurt to touch!”
さて、ゴンドラも はいります。
Then, a gondola entered the cave…
すっご～い！ きょだいな ドラゴンに なっちゃいました。
WOW! It turned into a giant dragon!
だんだん よが あけてきました。
As dawn began to break…
さいごに うまも あわてて、かけてきます。
a horse rushed toward the cave in a panic.
ほら、やっぱりね。かっぱに なっちゃいました。
And just like that — of course — it turned into a kappa!
「あ、へんしんトンネルが ある。あっちにも いってみよう！」
“Oh! There’s the Transforming Tunnel! Let’s go check that one out too!”
かっぱは すたすたと あるきだしました。
And the kappa trotted off into the distance…
