(Transforming Hot Spring)
ここは へんしんおんせん。
Welcome to Henshin Onsen.
この おんせんに はいれば、どんなに つかれていても げんきに なれちゃうんです。
This is the magical hot spring where no matter how tired you are, you’ll feel completely refreshed and transformed!
はじめは、いぬの ベスちゃんです。
First up is Bess the dog.
おやおや？ なんだか くたびれていて、おはだも カサカサですね～
Oh dear, she looks quite worn out, and her skin is all dry and rough…
でも、「ベス ベス ベス......」と いいながら、おゆに はいると.....
But as she says, “Bess, Bess, Bess...” and steps into the warm water...
おはだが すべすべで、ぴっかぴかに なっちゃいました。
Her skin becomes silky smooth and shiny!
「あ～、いい おゆだったわ～」と、だいまんぞく。
“Ahhh, that was such a nice bath,” she says with great satisfaction.
こんどは、かんなちゃんという おんなのこ。
Next comes a little girl named Kanna.
「ぐすん ぐすん ぐすん.....」
Sniff sniff sniff...
いったい どうしたんでしょう？
What could be wrong?
かなしそうに ないています。
She looks so sad and is crying.
さあさあ、ゆっくり おゆに つかってね。
“Come on now, soak slowly in the warm bath.”
「わたし、もう なかん！」よかったね、カナちゃん。
“I’m not going to cry anymore!” she says happily.
かなしいことなんて わすれちゃえ～！
Good for you, Kanna—leave all those sad feelings behind!
げんきのない くわがたくんも。
Now here comes Kuwagata-kun, looking gloomy.
「あ～、なんだか つまんない」
“Sigh… I’m so bored…”
「うわ～！ すごく わくわくしてきたぞ～！」
But wait—“Wow! I’m getting so excited!”
ふるくて ぼろぼろに なった きしゃくんも。
Then there’s an old, worn-out train.
「ぼく、もう うごけない...」
“I can’t move anymore...”
わあ！ からだが しゃきっとしましたね。
Whoa! His body straightens up.
「うお～、ちからが わいてきた！ まだまだ はしるぞ～！ ぽっぽー！」
“Whoa—my strength is back! I can keep on running! Choo choo!”
ぶしょうひげを はやした おじさんも。
A mustached warrior says,
「ああ、おれの じんせい なんにも いいこと なかったな...」
“Ahh, nothing good ever happened in my life...”
「これからが しょうぶだ！ もういちど、がんばってみるぞ！」
But after soaking—“Now’s my time! I’ll give it one more shot!”
すご～く やるきに なったみたい。
He’s suddenly full of motivation!
なすびさんも つまらなそう。
Eggplant-san looks rather bored too.
「わたし、もっと きれいに なりたいわ～」
“I want to be more beautiful...”
うつくしい ビーナスに なりました。
She transforms into a stunning Venus!
「まあ、うまれかわったみたい！」
“Wow—I feel reborn!”
そして、きんぞうさんと なかまたちも。
And finally, Kinzo-san and his friends.
みんな、としは はちじゅうです。
They’re all 80 years old.
さんにんとも、じゅうはっさいに わかがえりました。
But now, all three have transformed back into 18-year-olds!
「もういちど せいしゅんだー！」
“It’s youth all over again!”
さいごに、ほそーい えだも。
Lastly, a thin little twig comes in, groaning,
「あ～、つかれが たまる たまる...」
“I’m soooo tired...”
ふとい まるたに へんしんです。
She transforms into a thick, sturdy log!
げんきに なって、よかった。よかった。
So full of energy now—how wonderful!
みんなも つかれたときは、へんしんおんせんに はいってね。
