やおやさんの かえりみち。
「これ、もっていき」
はたけから きゅうりを もって、おっちゃんが、かお だした。
「ひろくん、これ、もっていき」
「ありがとう。おかあちゃん、よろこぶ」
きゅうりの とげが、つんつん してる。
おかあちゃん、おいしい ぬかづけ つくって くれる。
かんがえながら あるいていると、
「これ、もっていき」
おばあちゃんが はたけから、まっかな トマト、もいで くれた。
「ひろくん、これ、もっていき」
「ありがとう。もらっとく」
あんまり おいしそう やったから、さっそく ひとつ、がぶりと やった。
じゅるり じゅるり。
くちを ぬぐって、また あるきだす。
すると、
「これ、もっていき」
「わっ！ あおじぞうさんや」
「これ、もっていき」
「そんなん、いらん。まんじゅうなんか、あついときに たべたない」
「そうやろう、なら、たまには、おそなえもんも、フルーツゼリーや みずようかんに してくれや」
「わかった。おかあちゃんに いうとくわ」
おじぞうさんと やくそくして、また、あるきだす。
すると、
「これ、もっていき」
「あれっ？」
この こえ、どこから きこえてくるの？
「ここや、ここ！ これ、もっていき！」
みあげたら、にゅうどうぐも。
どんどん、どんどん、くろい あまぐも、はきだしてる。
「これ、もっていき。これ、もっていき」
「いらん いらん。そんな もん！」
いってる そばから、ぽたり、あめ。
はしれ、はしれ。
けど、そら、あっという まに まっくら。
あめ、ざーざーふりだした。
はしれ、はしれ。
「これ、もっていき」
おいかけてくる、うしろから。
「これ、もっていき」
「そんなもん、いらん」
はしれ、はしれ。
「そんなこと いわんと、もっていき」
「いらん、いらん！」
「あっ、おかあちゃん」
しんぱいして、むかえに きて くれた。
けど、まだ うしろから、
「これ、もっていき」
「おかあちゃん、たすけてー」
「へんなこ やなぁ。せっかく ゆうくん、かさ もっていきって、おいかけて きて くれたのに」
「そうやったんか。ありがとう、ゆうくん」
「そうや、ゆうくん、これ、もっていき。きのう つかまえたんや」

"Take This"
On his way back from the greengrocer, Hiro-kun met an old man who came out from a field holding cucumbers.
"Take this," said the old man.
"Thank you," replied Hiro-kun. "Mom will be happy."
The cucumbers had sharp prickles.
"Mom will make delicious pickles," Hiro-kun thought as he walked.
Then, from another field, an old woman appeared with a bright red tomato.
"Take this," said the old woman.
"Thank you," replied Hiro-kun. "I'll take it."
It looked so delicious that Hiro-kun immediately took a bite.
Juice dribbled down his mouth, and he wiped it off before continuing on his way.
Suddenly, he heard, "Take this."
"Wow, it's Jizo-sama," Hiro-kun exclaimed.
"Take this," repeated Jizo-sama.
"No, I don't need that. I don't want to eat manju (sweet buns) in this heat," Hiro-kun said.
"If that's the case, sometimes you should offer fruits like jelly or mizuyokan (sweet bean jelly)," Jizo-sama suggested.
"Okay, I'll tell my mom," Hiro-kun promised Jizo-sama before continuing on his way.
Then, again, he heard, "Take this."
"Huh? Where is that voice coming from?" Hiro-kun wondered.
"Here, here. Take this," said the voice.
He looked up and saw Nyūdōgumo (cumulonimbus clouds) starting to release dark rain clouds.
"Take this, take this," the clouds said.
"No, no, I don't need that," said Hiro-kun as the rain started to fall.
"Run, run," shouted Hiro-kun, but the sky quickly turned dark, and rain began to pour down heavily.
"Take this," the clouds continued to say as they chased after him.
"I don't need that!" Hiro-kun shouted back as he ran.
"Don't say that, just take it," insisted the clouds.
"No, no," Hiro-kun repeated.
Just then, Hiro-kun's worried mother came to meet him, but the clouds were still following, saying, "Take this."
"Mom, help! Something strange is happening," Hiro-kun cried.
"Oh, that's just Yuu-kun. He was trying to give you an umbrella," said his mother.
"Oh, is that so? Thank you, Yuu-kun."
"That's right, Yuu-kun. Take this," Hiro-kun said, handing over something he had caught the day before.
