「きょうは なにを しよううかなぁ。」
あるあさ、こぐまの くんちゃんは ベッドから おきだすと いいました。
「なんにも すること ないや。」
「こっちへ きて テーブルに あさごはんの よういを してちょうだい。」と おかあさんぐまが いいました。
そこで くんちゃんは テーブルに おさらや スプーンを だして よういを しました。
「こんどは なにを したらいい？」と くんちゃんは ききました。
「ごはんを おあがり。」と おとうさんぐまが いました。
あさごはんが すむと、くんちゃんは また ききました。
「なにを して あそんだら いい？」
「えでも かいたら？」と おかあさんが いいました。
そこで くんちゃんは えを かきました。
「こんどは なにをして あそんだら いい？」
くんちゃんは えを かいて しまうと また ききました。
「そとへ いって、じぶんで なにか することを みつけなさい。おかあさん、きょうは おおいそがしなの。」と おかあさんは いいました。
くんちゃんは そとへ でていきました。
「そとに でたって なんにも すること ないや。」
くんちゃんは いえの まわりを ぐるっと まわりました。
こいしを けってみました。
それから もうすこし あるきました。
まつかさを けってみました。
それから もっと あるきました。
きぎれを けってみました。
くんちゃんは そのきぎれを ひろいあげました。
「これ ふねみたい。そうだ、かわへ いって うかべてみよう。」
くんちゃんは おがわへ かけていきました。
きぎれは ちゃんと ふねらしく うかんで はしりました。
くんちゃんは おがわの そこに きれいな いしが おちているのを みつけました。
そこで くんちゃんは こいしを たくさん ひろいました。
みつかった こいしは ぜんぶ ひろいました。
「こいしと つちで いえを つくろう。」と くんちゃんは いいました。
すこし すると いしの いえが できあがりました。
そのとき りすが くんちゃんの そばを かけぬけて いきました。
くちに くるみを くわえています。
「ぼくも くるみを あつめよう。」と くんちゃんは いいました。
そして くるみを たくさん ひろいました。
みつかった くるみは ぜんぶ ひろいました。
それから そのくるみを きのうろに かくしました。
そのとき おかあさんが いえの とぐちに でてきて、げんかんを はきだしました。
おかあさんは それが すむと、いえのなかに はいりました。
くんちゃんは ちょっと ほうきを かりることに しました。
そして おちばを はきあつめて おおきな やまを つくりました。
「ぼくは うさぎだ。」
そういって くんちゃんは かれはの なかに もぐりこみました。
そこへ おかあさんが でてきて もうふを ほしました。
くんちゃんは もうふの あいだに はいりこんで いいました。
「いま トンネルを とおっているところ。」
「ちがう、これ、テントだ。ぼくのテント。ぼくは たんけんか なんだ！」
くんちゃんは むしめがねを もってきて、じめんを はっている ありの あとを つけていきました。
そのとき おかあさんの よぶこえが きこえてきました。
「くんちゃん、おひるごはんですよ。かえって いらっしゃい。」
くんちゃんは はじって うちへ かえりました。
そして おおあわてで ごはんを たべはじめました。
「なにを そんなに いそいで いるんだい？」と おとうさんが ききました。
「はやく いかなくっちゃ。だって きょうは ぼく おおいそがしなの。」と くんちゃんは いいました。
### Kunchan is Very Busy
“What should I do today?”
One morning, the little bear Kunchan said this as he got out of bed.
“I have nothing to do.”
“Come here and help set the table for breakfast,” said Mama Bear.
So Kunchan set out the plates and spoons on the table.
“What should I do next?” Kunchan asked.
“Eat your breakfast,” said Papa Bear.
After finishing breakfast, Kunchan asked again.
“What should I do for fun?”
“Why don’t you draw a picture?” suggested Mama Bear.
So Kunchan drew a picture.
“What should I do for fun now?” Kunchan asked after finishing his drawing.
“Go outside and find something to do on your own. Mama is very busy today,” said Mama Bear.
Kunchan went outside.
“There’s nothing to do outside either.”
Kunchan walked around the house.
He kicked a pebble.
Then he walked a little more.
He kicked a pine cone.
Then he walked even more.
He kicked a piece of wood.
Kunchan picked up the piece of wood.
“This looks like a boat. Yes, I’ll go to the river and see if it floats.”
Kunchan ran to the stream.
The piece of wood floated like a proper boat and sailed along.
Kunchan saw some pretty stones at the bottom of the stream.
So he picked up a lot of stones.
He picked up all the stones he found.
“I’ll build a house with stones and dirt,” Kunchan said.
After a while, the stone house was completed.
At that moment, a squirrel ran past Kunchan with a nut in its mouth.
“I’ll gather some nuts too,” Kunchan said.
Then he picked up a lot of nuts.
He picked up all the nuts he found.
Then he hid the nuts in a hollow tree.
At that moment, Mama Bear came out to the porch and swept the entrance.
After finishing, she went back inside the house.
Kunchan decided to borrow the broom for a bit.
He gathered the fallen leaves into a big pile.
“I’m a rabbit.”
Kunchan said this as he dived into the pile of dried leaves.
Just then, Mama Bear came out to hang up a blanket.
Kunchan crawled between the blankets and said,
“I’m going through a tunnel.”
“No, this is a tent. My tent. I’m an explorer!”
Kunchan brought out a magnifying glass and started following the ants on the ground.
At that moment, he heard Mama Bear calling.
“Kunchan, it’s lunchtime. Come back now.”
Kunchan hurried back home.
He started eating his lunch in a rush.
“Why are you in such a hurry?” asked Papa Bear.
“I have to go quickly. I’m very busy today,” Kunchan said.
