(Lunch Duty)
きょうは、きゅうしょくとうばん。
Today, I am on lunch duty.
ぼくは、デザートの かかりなんだ。
I’m in charge of serving dessert.
四じかんめが おわった。
Fourth period has ended.
ドキドキ しながら はくいを きたよ。
I put on my white coat nervously.
せんせいが、しょっかんを はいぜんだいに おいて くれたよ。
The teacher placed the food tray on the serving table.
きょうの デザートは、フルーツポンチ。
Today's dessert is fruit punch.
ふたを とったら、しらたまが はいって いた。
When I lifted the lid, there were some rice flour dumplings inside.
みんなに おなじ かずで よそうんだ。
I have to make sure everyone gets the same number.
じょうずに わけられるかな。
I wonder if I can divide it properly.
どきどき しながら はじめの しょっきに よそったら、おぼんに ちょっと こぼれちゃった。
My heart was pounding as I started serving the first portion, but I accidentally spilled a bit onto the tray.
ぼくの ところで、みんなが まって いる 。
Everyone was waiting in line at my station.
パンの かかりの みかさんは、かんたんで いいな。
Mika, who is in charge of the bread, has it easy.
いっしょうけんめい よそって いたら、だんだん どきどきが きえて きたよ。
As I kept serving carefully, my nervousness slowly disappeared.
あと 五にん ぶん。
Only five more servings to go.
のこりが すくなく なって きた。
The remaining amount was getting low.
さいごを よそったら、ちょっとだけ しょっかんに のこってた。
When I served the last portion, there was just a tiny bit left in the container.
すごいね、じょうずに よそえたね。
"Wow, you did a great job serving!"
せんせいが、おおきな こえで いった。
the teacher said in a loud voice.
みかさんも、フルーツポンチの めいじんだね と いって くれたよ。
Mika also said, "You're a fruit punch master!"
クラスの みんなが、にこにこ している。
Everyone in the class was smiling.
いただきます。
"Let's eat!"
みんな おいしく たべてね。
