ぽんたとかんた PONTA TO KANTA
(Ponta and Kanta)
ぽんたと かんたは、なかよしです。
Ponta and Kanta are good friends.
いつも いっしょに あそんで います。
They always play together.
「うらやまで、ひみつきちを みつけたんだ。ふたりで いこうよ。」
"I found a secret base in the back mountain. Let’s go there together,"
かんたが、ぽんたを さそいました。
Kanta invited Ponta.
「だめだよ。うらやまは あぶないから、はいっては いけないと、いわれて いるよ。」
"We can’t. The back mountain is dangerous, and we were told not to go there."
「へいき、へいき。」
"It’ll be fine, don’t worry,"
かんたは、ずんずん あるいて いきます。
Kanta said, confidently walking ahead.
「ぼくも、うらやまで あそびたいなー。」
"I want to play in the back mountain too,"
ぽんたは、しばらく まよって いました。
Ponta thought, hesitating for a moment.
でも、おもいきって、おおきな こえで いいました。
But then, he gathered his courage and said loudly:
「ぼくは、いかないよ。」
"I’m not going."
それを きいて、かんたが あわてて もどって きました。
Hearing that, Kanta hurriedly came back.
「ぽんた、どう したんだい。」
"Ponta, what’s wrong?"
「ぼくは、いかない。よく かんがえて きめたんだ。だって、うらやまは あぶないから。」
"I’m not going. I thought about it carefully and decided. The back mountain is dangerous,"
ぽんたは、はっきりと いいました。
Ponta said firmly.
かんたは、だまって かんがえて いました。
Kanta stayed quiet and thought for a moment.
そして、きっぱりと いいました。
Then he replied with determination:
「ぼくも、いかない。じぶんで かんがえて きめた。」
"I’m not going either. I thought about it myself and made my decision."
ふたりは、にっこり わらって うなずきました。
The two smiled at each other and nodded.
